Monday: Nehemiah 8:1-18
In this passage, when the Israelites had settles in their towns, all the people assembled with a unified purpose at the square just inside the Water Gate. They asked the scribe to bring out the Book of the Laws of Moses, in which they were given to obey. The priest brought the book and he faced the square from early morning until noon and read aloud to everyone. When I read the Word, i am looking for God to either speak to me in ways that he never has, or I am hoping that God will awnser my question or questions through his word. Sometimes I dont expect anything, I just read to enjoy the Word and learn the cool stories. :) BUt sometimes I also hope it will bring me comfort and peace.

Bible Blog Week 6 (2-17-11)
Thursday: Nehemiah 2:1-20
In this passage, early in the following sprig he was serving the king his wine. He had never before appeared sad in the kings presence. So the king asked why he was looking so sad. He was terrified to reply but he said how can I not be sad about the home where my family was buried, has now been burned by fire. And the king wanted to know what he could do to help so he replied by basically asking the king to send him to Judah to rebuild the city. The king and his wife said okay but wanted to know how long it would take him and when he would return. He asked the king for a letter to be able to get beams for the gates. I don't know which exact relationships need to be rebuilt, but I know that we all have some. Everyone needs to rebuild relationships. :)

Bibile Blog: Week 6 (2-16-11)
Wednesday: Ezra 3:7-13
In this passage, they gave money to the masons and to the carpenters and also gave food, drink and oil to the Sidonians and the Tyrians. They brang cedar trees to the seaport, according to the grant they had from Cyrus the King. In the second month made a begining, with the rest of the priests and Levites and all who had come to Jerusalem out of the Lord's house. When the builders laid the foundation of the temple of the Lord, the preists stood in their vestments with trumpets and cymbals to prais the Lord. They sand songs of praise to the Lord. SOme times when I am working on a large project, if I need things, I get a little stressed out. But if I can calm myself down and put my mind to it, I can do it in no time. :) I normally tend to drag things out, but here lately, I have been trying to get things done alot faster and quicker. :)

Bibile Blog: Week 6 (2-15-11)
Tuesday: 2 Kings 22:1- 23:3
Josiah was 8 years old when he began his thirty-one-year reign in Jerusaleme and did right in the sight of the Lord and walked in all the ways of David. He turned neither to the left or to the right, but kept straight to the path of rightiousness. In the eighteenth year of King Josiah he sent the scribes to the Lord's house. They said for them to go up to wherever and let them deliver it into the hands of the workmen who have oversight of the Lord's house, to give to the laborers engaged in the repairing of the Lord's house. This message was to EVERYONE. not just the builders, but to every worker. The Bible is NEVER a "lost" book in my life. I go to it to seek God and to read what the Lord has promised me and also what is to come. :)

Week 4 Bible Blog (2-9-11)
Wednesday: 2 Kings 2: 1-12
When the Lord was about to take Elijah up to heaven, Elisha and Elijah were going from Gilgal. And Elijah said to Elisha, I pray for you, the Lord has sent me to Bethal and the Lord lives in your soul and your soul lives so they went to Bethal. The prophets' sons came to Elisha and asked if he knew that the Lord would take his master today and he replied to them by saying yes but hold your peace. Then Elijah said that the Lord sent him to Jericho, and so they went to Jericho. When I take a commitment, I will go to the ends of the earth to carry it out because I know how it feels to have someone promise you something and then bail out it. The feelings hurt and I know that I would never want to make someone feel the way that I felt. If it means hurting someone or offending someone, I will explain why I won't do it. But I know that I am commited to the Lord and I know that I will do what I can to fufill what I said I would do when I was born. :)

Bible Blog Week 5.2 (2-7-11)
Monday: 1 Kings 21: 1-29
In this passage, Ahab wanted Naboth's vineyard. He asked Naboth, but he said that the Lord did not say that he could have it and that he was not to give his fathers inheritance away. When Ahab went home, he was depressed so he went to his bed and did not eat. When Jezabelle heard of this she sent two men to got and prosecute Naboth and then bring him up a hill and stone him to death. When this was done, Ahab went to Naboth's vineyard and was about to posses it, when the Lord spoke to Elijahand told him to go and tell Ahab that he is not allowed to have the vineyard. When Elijah got there, he told Ahab everything the Lord had told him, but Jezabelle was not pleased with his answer and so they took the land. Then they became the food to the wild dogs and their warning became true. Justice is important, but i would rather lose knowing that God intented for me to, rather then win, knowing that God had better in store for me... I have no rite to say anything dealing with justice because who are we to judge? God is the judge and we need to be silent and let him do his job. :)

Week 4 Bible Blog (2-2-11)
Wednesday: 1 Kings 17: 1-24
In this passage, Ahithophel urged Absalom to let him choose 12,000 men to start out after David. He and his troops will panick and everyone will run away which would give him a chance to kill the King... This plan seemed great to Absalom and all the elders of Israel. But then Absalom brought in Hushi and asked him what he thought about this and he did not reply how Absalom thought. The people all agreed that Hushi's advise was much better than the others and decided to stick with Hushi's plan. Then the two me crawled out of the well and hurried on to tell King David of what all they had heard and seen. David soon found out and he wsoon arrived Mahanaim and by then, Absalom had and begun his attack and his troops were moving across the Jordan River. In order to obey God, you must trust him. Most of the things that we do come from trust. We have to trust God that he knows what he is doing in order to obey him. :)

Tuesday: 1 Kings 12: 1-24
In this passage, when Jeroboam heard of what was happening, he returned hime from Egypt. He had fled to Egypt to escape form King Solomon. The leaders of Israel called for Rehoboam to speak with him. They asked if he would lighten the harsh labor and heavy taxes from his father and he told them to give him 3 days to think it over. He went to the elders for advise and they all told him to give the people a break because the work his father gave them was hard. He decided to ignore what the elders had to say and went to his friends who had grown up with him. They all told him to tell them that he would be even harder on them and beat them with scorpions instead of whips like his father. When the people heard this, they wanted him out imediatly. Then the people went home and made Jeroboam King.

Monday: 1 Kings 10: 1-13
In this passage, when the Queen of Sheba heard about Solomon's fame, she went to him with hard questions to test his knowledge. She arrived with a large group of attendants. When she met with Solomon, she talked with him about everything she had on her mind. Solomon had awnsers for all of her questions and nothing was to hard for him to explaine to her. When the Queen of Sheba realized how wise Solomon really was, she saw his palace he built and felt overwhelemed. She told the King everything she had ever heard was true, and she had only heard the half of his wisdom. She then gave the King a gift of 9,000 pounds of gold and jewels.
